Bring a Friend Day

The BDA is excited to announce the return of the Bring a Friend initiative! First launched in the summer of 2011, with the full backing of Bowls England, EIBA Ltd, BCGBA and the ESMBA, the first ever Bring a Friend Day took place on 29th October, sponsored by Potters Holidays. The day saw an average of 13 new          members for every club that hosted a Bring a Friend event.

The motivation for the Bring a Friend initiative came from the collective desire of the BDA team to create a nationwide recruitment event that not only allowed new people to experience our sport but also the extensive social benefits that being a member of a bowling club can bring. Much of the focus of the Bring a Friend events is on providing a fun day of bowling and socialising for current members to attend with their non-bowling friends.

Dates for the 2012 Bring a Friend events are as follows:

Spring 2012: 28th April – 7th May

Autumn 2012: 15th September – 23rd September.

Due to the success of the inaugural Bring a Friend Day, and the feedback received from clubs since, the Bring a Friend Day has been expanded into 2 Bring a Friend weeks. Regular updates will appear on the BDA website throughout the year including exciting news regarding the prizes on offer for this year’s events.

Online registration for the Spring 2012 event is now open please visit http://www.bowlsdevelopmentalliance.com/bringafriend/register-bafd

Bring a Friend events are an exciting opportunity for clubs to host a fun day of bowling and entertainment whilst at the same time making a concerted effort to increase their membership
